MBC의 신경민 앵커의 중도하차에 대해서 말들이 많은것 같다.
개인적으로 신경민 앵커의 클로징맨트가 맘에 들었는데, 그것과 더불어 여러가지 사정상으로 중도하차하게 된 것이 안타까울 따름이다.
뉴스앵커가 뉴스진행중에 자신의 이야기나 소신을 말하면 않되는지 궁금해서 위키피디아를 뒤져보았다.
위키피디아에서 "뉴스앵커맨(news anchorman)"으로 검색하니 이런 정의가 쓰여져 있다.
Newscaster
A newscaster is a presenter of a news bulletin who is himself or herself a working journalist and news gatherer as well as a participant in compiling the script to be delivered in a news bulletin.
Prior to the television era, radio-news broadcasts often mixed news with opinion and each presenter strove for a distinctive style. These presenters were referred to as commentators. The last remaining news presenter of this type was Paul Harvey. The term newscaster came into common use to distinguish presenters of straight news broadcasts from commentators.
However in the UK, ITN's presenters are referred to as newscasters (and have been since the 1950s), whilst those working at the BBC are called newsreaders.
News anchor
In the United States and Canada, presenters of news broadcasts are referred to as news anchors (sometimes anchorperson, anchorman, or anchorwoman) instead of "newscasters". An anchorman traditionally is a television personality who presents material prepared for a news program and, at times, must improvise commentary for live presentation. Many news anchors are also involved in writing and/or editing the news for their programmes.
The term "anchorman" was coined by producer Don Hewitt. PBS cites its first usage as being on July 7, 1952, to describe Walter Cronkite's role at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. According to Hewitt, the term was in reference to the "anchor leg" of a relay race.
뉴스앵커나 뉴스캐스터는 나라별로 불리는 이름이 다르다고 했으니 동일하다고 보고, 뉴스앵커로 통일하자.
뉴스앵커는 뉴스의 전달을 명확하게 하기 위해서 자신의 의견을 넣는 다고 이야기 정의했다. 그리고, 많은 뉴스앵커들은 뉴스프로그램을 위해서 기사를 쓰고 편집하는데 참여한다고 정의되어져 있다.
신경민앵커가 자신의 역활을 충분히 잘 하였었고, 그는 뉴스의 흐름을 전달하기 위해서 그리고, 명확하게 강조하기 위해서 적절한 맨트를 잘 넣어주었었다.
예전에 지금의 MBC사장인 엄기영대표가 뉴스 첫머리에 "참 어처구니가 없는..."으로 시작했던 뉴스가 생각이 났다. 그것또한 뉴스앵커가 자신의 뉴스를 전달하기 위해 넣은 일종의 commentary였다.
안타까울 따름이다. 불명확한 이유로 많은 사람들로부터 인정받던 앵커가 물러나고 아직 후임도 정해지지 않아서 임시로 앵커를 앉혀놓고 있다니....
